Yoe Books Presents: Ken Shannon-Reed Crandall-1951

We've run some Ken Shannon stories before. I love the big guy with that big ol' expressive face. He started out in POLICE COMICS and was popular enough to warrant his own title but not popular enough to avoid the horror trend f the era. Art is by Reed Crandall, one of the true greats of the industry!

This story is also featured in the hardcover collection ZOMBIES! which you can WIN free as part of the 5 Chilling Archives of Horror collections being given away in conjunction with IDW and Yoe Books! Email us at booksteve@aol.com and tell us YOUR favorite horror artist! Then go to the other sites below and enter again for 5 total chances to win the full set! See the October 17th post for full rules.

The bottom of page three is an absolute masterpiece. I've come to realize that the best comics--or any fiction--tend to be the ones that are not afraid to make their leads look like goofballs on occasion (The Spirit leaps to mind), while the most boring ones can't bear to smudge the polish on their idols.
