Debbie-Bill Woggon-1948

Kate King, Reporter-1962

The art here--credited by GCD to Russ Manning but I'm not quiiiiite sure I agree--reminds me of the great newspaper story strips of the '50s, '60s, and '70s!

Minute Man-Phil Bard-1943

Comic books in World War II were a major source of Allied propaganda with superheroes from most publishers pushing War Bonds and Victory Bonds to kids and their parents on a regular basis. Swoop Storm-Boy Comics-1945
